AcuStep Gait Force Analysis

Gait Force Analysis (GFA™) provides in-shoe kinetic gait analysis in both graphical and numerical format.  This system allows for review and comparison of up to 4 measurement events in multiple sequence formats. A built in database is included and is an excellent tool for large long term research studies such as diabetic foot ulcer prevention or return-to-sport post injury.

Uses - Whether the professional needs to confirm the effectiveness of a clients existing footwear or assess the peak pressure profile for both pre and post orthotic fit, the AcuStep GFA™ provides the necessary objective data to document this decision.

Ratios - AcuStep has developed two specific ratios to evaluate shear and vertical force. GSR™, which is Gradient Sum Ratio, compares the initial in-shoe shear stress to subsequent shear stress.  PFR™, which is Peak Force Ratio, compares the initial in-shoe peak vertical force to subsequent in-shoe peak vertical force determinations.  The ability to determine these ratios is a unique capability of the AcuStep system. Generally gait analysis systems provide a large amount of data making it difficult and time consuming to review. AcuStep helps resolve these problems by organizing the data using the ratio method. Researchers and other professionals can quickly and reliably make treatment management decisions based on a multiplicity of data sets over time.

Gait Force Analysis Reports - The GFA™ Report is available “on demand” for a small fee on a per report basis.  This graphical and numerical report is available for printout on standard (8 ½“ X 11”) paper and is submitted by email in jpeg format.  This report supports the kinetic component of Gait Analysis for third party reimbursement.  To satisfy the HIPAA requirement, it is submitted with the study name encrypted.
